Fire engine overturns in collision with HGV on Wiltshire trading estate

A fire engine has overturned after being hit by a lorry in Westbury this afternoon.

Emergency services attended Quartermaster Road on West Wilts Trading Estate at around 3.10pm.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that the fire engine was a ‘non-operational pre-delivery appliance belonging to London Fire Brigade’.

South Western Ambulance Service say two people have been treated for minor injuries.

A fire service spokesperson said: “We sent three crews, from Trowbridge, Warminster and Bradford on Avon, and also the heavy rescue unit from Trowbridge.

“Fortunately neither driver was trapped and all firefighters had to do was make the scene safe.”
