Emergency services work to free casualty from wreckage in Royal Wootton Bassett

Emergency services freed at least one casualty from an overturned car overnight.

The incident happened in Whitehall Lane in Royal Wootton Bassett at around 2am this morning, with Wiltshire Air Ambulance tasked to the scene.

A white car left the road and crashed through a fence before coming to rest on its roof. It’s understood a male driver was trapped in the vehicle before being extricated and handed over to medics.

Firefighters from Royal Wootton Bassett, Westlea and Swindon were all in attendance alongside police and ambulance crews.

It’s not yet clear if anyone’s been seriously injured, or how many people were in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
