Emergency services block residential road in Swindon after serious crash

A road in Swindon is blocked by emergency services following a serious crash.

Numerous 999 crews were called to the road traffic collision, involving two vehicles, in Padstow Road at around 4pm this afternoon (Saturday, 27 August).

At least seven police vehicles are in attendance, alongside two ambulances, two fire engines and Wiltshire Air Ambulance – which landed in Mannington Recreation Ground.

The road, off Penzance Drive, is expected to remain closed for several hours while specialist officers investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Local residents, who need to access Padstow Road and Saltash Road are being asked to park their vehicles nearby and walk to their homes.

No further details have been confirmed at this time, however, an update from Wiltshire Police is expected later today.
