Elderly woman collapses and it takes three hours for an ambulance to come

An elderly woman who collapsed outside of a Swindon cinema this afternoon was still on the floor waiting for an ambulance three hours later.

A bystander – who wishes to remain anonymous – turned up at Greenbridge Retail Park’s Empire Cinema at around 4.30pm today, and witnessed the 80-year-old on the floor with cinema staff sitting with her.

When he left the cinema two and a half hours later, he was ‘astonished’ and ‘disgusted’ to see that she was still laying on the floor waiting for an ambulance.

At 7pm, paramedics arrived at the scene – around three hours after the fall.

It’s believe she’s suffered a hip, pelvis or upper leg injury.
