Elderly man airlifted to Bristol hospital following collapse in Trowbridge road

A man’s been flown to hospital by Wiltshire Air Ambulance after collapsing in Trowbrigde.

The ambulance service were called the serious medical emergency, thought to be a cardiac arrest, near Apetito in Canal Road at shortly before 2pm this afternoon, 29 November.

Wiltshire Police were also called to the scene to assist paramedics; officers closed the road for 20 minutes, while the air ambulance medics attended to the casualty.

The 70-year-old man was airlifted to Bristol Royal Infirmary.

A police spokesperson said: “The ambulance service were dealing with a medical emergency involving a 70-year-old man, who was airlifted to Bristol Royal Infirmary.”
