Elderly man ‘critical’ in hospital after serious Boxing Day crash

An elderly man is ‘critical’ in hospital after a serious crash near Salisbury.

Emergency services attended a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A360 close to Druids Lodge at around 12.20pm on Boxing Day (26 December).

Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed at the scene – on the crossroads for Stoford and Middle Woodford.

Two cars were involved in the incident, where it’s understood a male driver – aged in his 80s – pulled out of a junction into the path of a car travelling along the A-road.

The driver was reportedly given CPR at the roadside having suffered a medical episode, before being taken to Salisbury District Hospital for further treatment.

He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition, according to Wiltshire Police.

A force spokesperson said: “Any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may have dash cam, are asked to contact the serious collision investigation team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 84 of yesterday’s date (26/12).

“Alternatively, you can contact the team directly by emailing [email protected].”
