Duo ‘stealing cats off the street’ sighted in Swindon and Chippenham

A duo allegedly stealing cats off the street have been sighted in towns across Wiltshire.

It’s claimed that on 16 March, a male was seen taking a cat on Hawksworth Industrial Estate in Swindon at around 12.45pm in the afternoon.

During the board daylight incident, he “chucked” the cat into a black Volvo S40 and when approached, made threats with a car jack handle, the witness reports.

Two days later, on the evening of 18 March, a similar theft occurred in Hill Rise, Chippenham.

It’s alleged that two males exited a black vehicle in the area before “grabbing a cat by its neck and chucking it in the back of their car”.

The witness said the “sound of that poor cat being taken has absolutely broken me”.

Wiltshire Police say the incidents – which were highlighted by two independent witnesses – have not been reported and therefore no investigation is ongoing.
