‘Drug user’ featured on phone is actually 12-year-old girl pretending to snort flour

It has transpired that a ‘drug user’ featured on the lock screen of a phone found and then handed into police this morning is a 12-year-old girl.

The child was reportedly baking cookies when she posed for a photograph as she pretended to snort flour left on the kitchen side – as if it was cocaine.

It was set at her lock screen before her phone was lost in the Westbury area. It was later handed into Trowbridge Police Station where an officer posted a photograph of the iPhone on the Trowbridge Police Facebook page in a bid to locate its owner.

Speaking to Wiltshire 999s, the girl’s mother who doesn’t wish to be named, said she was “mortified” by the post which has since been shared across the web.

“This is going to be very embarrassing for her when she returns to school”, she commented.

We’ve approached Wiltshire Police for comment.
