Aldi do that? Driver crashes out of supermarket car park – stopping on a steep hill

A driver crashed out of a supermarket car park in Swindon, leaving witnesses baffled.

Shoppers were left wondering how a red Vauxhall came to plough through a fence and stop on a steep hill outside Aldi earlier this afternoon (28 March).

Emergency services were alerted to the incident in North Latham Road, off Thamesdown Drive, at around 3pm.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service sent a crew and a senior officer to the incident.

Firefighters winched the vehicle back into the car park soon after their arrival.

The female driver and passenger were in the vehicle at the time of the collision, but according to witnesses, they didn’t suffer any injuries.

The car was reportedly left in gear ahead of a shopping trip. When the driver returned and started it, the vehicle jumped forward.

Wiltshire Police were also on scene, but it’s not believed any action was taken against the driver.
