Distressed woman in tree sparks major emergency services response in Swindon

There’s a huge emergency services presence in one area of Swindon this afternoon as 999 crews deal with a distressed woman in a tree.

A large number of police, fire and ambulance service vehicles are in attendance of the incident in a small woodland area off Marlborough Road.

A woman has reportedly climbed a tree in a distressed state. The welfare incident, opposite the entrance to Coate Water Country Park, began this morning.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident near to Coate Water regarding concerns for the welfare of a woman.”

Earlier this month, a woman in a tree sparked a major incident at the same location. She was brought down after more than three hours and taken to a place of safety.
