Crime scenes at Swindon and Cirencester homes as part of murder investigation

Police have confirmed that the crime scenes in place at two houses in Swindon and Cirencester relate to a murder investigation.

Officers arrived at the scene on Tuesday night, with specialist cadaver dogs (trained to sniff out human remains) at the scene on Wednesday morning.

Gloucestershire Police, which is leading the investigation, say the investigation relates to a non-recent murder, and there is no risk to the public.

The crime scenes remain in place at properties in Wingfield, Swindon and St Mary’s Road, Cirencester, with Wiltshire Police officers manning the cordons.

It has been officially confirmed that the investigation does not related to Swindon taxi driver serial killer Christopher Halliwell.
