A crime scene is in place around pools of blood on the floor outside a house in Swindon this evening.
A large number of officers responded to reports of an assault in Burbage Road, Penhill, at around 7pm.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We received a call from the ambulance service at 6.45pm today (27/04) following an incident where a woman had been injured at a property in Burbage Road, Penhill, Swindon.
“The woman, who is in her 40s, has been taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment for an injury to her back. Her injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
“The investigation is in the early stages and officers are currently at the scene. At this stage nobody has been arrested.”
