Christmas Day in custody for man accused of knifepoint robbery

A man accused of robbing a shop at knifepoint will spend Christmas Day in custody.

Police were called to the One Stop in Queens Road, Westbury, on Friday afternoon (22 December).

A man threatened staff with what was described as a “very large knife”  – making off with £150.

28-year-old father Paul Mahy, of Sycamore Grove, Westbury, faces allegations of robbery and possession of a blade in a public place.

He was remanded in police custody to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Boxing Day.
