33-year-old Chippenham man faces jail after dealing cocaine and cannabis

A 33-year-old man from Chippenham has pleaded guilty to a number of drug dealing offences following a Wiltshire Police investigation.

Edward Sclafani will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.

Sclafani failed a roadside drugs test when was stopped by officers in June 2020 and a search of his car found he was carrying a small quantity of cocaine.

In February, as a result of the stop, he was banned from driving for 12 months and was fined £80 after pleading guilty to driving a BMW under the influence of cocaine.

A search of his home found more cocaine, cannabis and a mobile phone. Under further investigation, this was found to be used as part of a drug dealing operation.

A closure order has now been made on his home address in Royal Close, which means that nobody is allowed into the property – with the exception of authorised council officers or the emergency services.

Sergeant Richard Marshall said: “I’m proud of the work my team has done to make sure Edward Sclafani’s drug operation is stopped in its tracks.

“Sclafani has owned up to his crimes after our investigation removed any doubt that he was involved in drug dealing.

“We’ve seen a number of successful prosecutions over the last few weeks which have taken a significant amount of drugs off the streets.

“If you think there’s any evidence of drug dealing where you live, you can report to us online or call 101. You can also report anonymously to Crimestoppers”

Sclafani will be sentenced when he appears at Swindon Crown Court next month.
