Chippenham dog walker in ‘nasty attack’ by two unknown dogs

A dog walker has been attacked by two dogs in Chippenham.

On Sunday 2 April, a man was walking his dog in the Long Close area when two dogs started to attack his dog. As he tried to stop the attack, he suffered bites to his hands.

The two dogs involved are both described as being the size and colour of a retriever with shaggy coats but with square shaped heads. The injured man did not recognise the breed of the dogs and believes they may be a foreign breed.

When the owner of the two dogs eventually appeared on the scene, he explained that he could not walk very fast due to a hip operation.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We are keen to speak to the owner of the two dogs due to the injuries sustained. If anyone is able to identify who the owner of these animals is, please contact the police on 101 and quote reference 54170029041.”
