Children discover bomb in Wiltshire forest and police cordon off area

Children discovered a bomb in a Wiltshire forest on Monday evening (3 July).

Police were called to the scene off Grand Avenue, Savernake, and cordoned off the area.

It’s believed the World War II munition was located by Beavers from a local Scout group.

Army explosives ordnance disposal officers attended the scene on Tuesday (4 July) and carried out a controlled detonation to make the scene safe.
