An aerial ladder platform and a fifth fire engine from Bath were also in attendance.

One casualty suffered the effects of smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene. It’s not known if the person was taken to hospital for further treatment.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and a main jet to stop the flames.

Fire crews remained at the location until around 3am.

It’s believed the fire was started accidentally, though the exact cause is not yet clear.

The three-bed semi-detached property was on the market for £375,000. It’s not clear if it remains for sale, but the garden continues to sport a Kingstons Estate Agents sign.
