Casualty dies after suffering cardiac arrest at Swindon community centre

A man has died after suffering a cardiac arrest at a community centre in Swindon.

Emergency services were called to the medical incident in The Street, Moredon, at around 12.30pm this afternoon.

Local ambulance crews, supported by critical care medics from Wiltshire Ambulance, worked on the casualty in Moredon Community Centre but despite their best efforts he pronounced deceased at the scene.

Comments on social media indicated that forensics wearing white suits were in attendance, but these were actually paramedics wearing coronavirus PPE.

Four police vehicles were also parked at the scene, alongside an air ambulance rapid response vehicle and two ambulances.

His next of kin has been informed.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Sadly, a man in his 60s passed away. His death is being treated as non-suspicious.”
