£10,000 cash reportedly stolen in rural Wiltshire supermarket burglary

Approximately £10,000 in cash was reportedly stolen in a supermarket burglary in rural Wiltshire.

Police raced to reports of loud noises coming from The Co-op Food store in High Street, Pewsey, at around 1.45am yesterday morning (Thursday, 13 April).

Approximately three people were seen running from the store in the direction of Pewsey Football Club.

When officers attended the scene they found damage caused to the shutters at the shop and a large sum of cash had been stolen.

Despite an area search being carried out with the support of a police dog, no suspects were located.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Enquiries remain ongoing and we would urge anyone who may have dash cam footage or CCTV which may have captured the suspects in the area prior to, or after the incident, to contact us.
