Two vehicles, a white BMW and a black Audi, veered off the carriageway and came to rest in the undergrowth.

Wiltshire Police say the occupants have suffered only minor injuries.

There are lengthy delays past the scene, but the motorway remains open.

‘With some rain now on the rods please bear this in mind before planting the loud pedal’, a roads policing unit (RPU) spokesperson commented.

Adding: ‘Drive to the conditions please’.
