Bromham man pleads guilty to groping woman in Trowbridge pub garden

A man who groped a woman in a Trowbridge pub garden has admitted his crime.

Joshua Reid, 26, pleaded guilty to sexual assault at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Friday (2 June).

The defendant, of New Road in Bromham, near Devizes, failed to appear for his first hearing – prompting news coverage when a warrant was issued for his arrest on 26 May.

After reading the article on Wiltshire 999s on Thursday (1 June), he handed himself into a police station and was remanded in custody overnight and put before the next available court.

Victoria Hill, prosecuting, said Reid slapped the buttocks of a woman and groped her breasts in a pub garden in Trowbridge in June 2022.

Magistrates adjourned the case for an all-options pre-sentence report to be compiled.

He will return to Salisbury Magistrates’ Court for sentence on 24 July.
