British Transport Police called as man obstructs railway line in Swindon

British Transport Police officers raced to the scene of a railway incident in Swindon this afternoon.

A number of police units responded to reports of a person trespassing on the tracks near Greenbridge Retail Park at around 1.15pm today, Friday 6 December.

On arrival, officers found a man – aged in his 20s – obstructing the railway line.

He was arrested on suspicion of obstructing the railway and criminal damage, and remains in custody at Gablecross Police Station this evening.

A British Transport Police confirmed to Wiltshire 999s their attendance at the scene, but said Wiltshire Police were dealing with the suspect for the aforementioned offences.
