BREAKING: Swindon road closed after crash left boy seriously injured

A young boy has suffered serious injuries this evening, after being hit by a car in Swindon.

Marlowe Avenue in Walcot has been closed between Greenbridge Road and Maitland Road since the incident happened at around 5.30pm, and isn’t expected to reopen until later tonight.

Speciaist traffic officers from Tri-Force are attending the scene — the male driver of a silver Peugeot was in the back of the unmarked BMW being spoken. It is not yet clear if he has been arrested.

A young boy, who lives at an address in Marlowe Avenue, was seen being taken to an ambulance.

A collision investigation is underway at the scene.
