Serious crash involving cyclist and motorcyclist closes Thamesdown Drive

Two people have been rushed to hospital following a serious crash involving a cyclist and a motorcyclist on Thamesdown Drive in Swindon.

Emergency services, including both Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Great Western Air Ambulance, were called to the Abbey Meads junction of the road at around 6.15pm this evening.

A member of staff from J&S Building and Roofing Specialists (company van pictured), alongside a number of other witnesses, stopped at the to assist before the emergency services arrived.

Thamesdown Drive is closed between Abbey Meads/Ash Brake and Elstree Way in the direction of Asda Walmart.

A senior roads policing officer at the scene said: “Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to officers, or has dashcam footage of the collision, is asked to contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101.”
