Firefighters find man’s body inside Swindon bungalow following blaze

The body of a man has been found by firefighters following a bungalow blaze in Swindon.

Emergency services, including multiple fire engines, were called to the address in Studland Close, off Canmore Avenue in Park South at some point before 4pm this evening.

Two plain clothed detectives and a number of uniformed police officers attended the scene, and a cordon is in place around a bungalow. The ambulance service also attended.

Two forensic investigators arrived at the scene at 6.20pm, with a private ambulance leaving the scene of the fire at around 8pm.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A deceased male was found at the address, believed to be the tenant of the property.  His death is being treated as non-suspicious at this time.

“Police and fire are currently at the scene continuing their investigations into the cause of the fire, again believed not to be suspicious at this time.”
