BREAKING: Man ‘slashed across face’ in Trowbridge town centre attack

A crime scene is in place opposite the entrance to a shopping centre in Trowbridge this afternoon.

Police officers are guarding the large scene on Market Street, outside Santander, and have been on scene since at least 3.30pm.

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with what bystanders say was a large knife wound to the face.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: We were called around 3.30pm today (12/05) following reports that a local man in his 20s had been assaulted in Trowbridge town centre. Ambulance was also called and he’s been been taken to hospital for treatment.

“A 38-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and is currently in custody.”
