Body of teenage girl discovered in wooded area behind Swindon pub

The body of a teenage girl was discovered behind at Swindon pub yesterday evening.

Emergency services, including several ambulance vehicles, rushed to the scene in Cheney Manor at around 6pm.

Wiltshire Police also sent a number of units to the incident in a wooded area behind The Manor public house.

The teenager’s body was found near a footpath behind The Manor

Officers taped off the area as a crime scene between the pub and Plaum’s Pit, an angler’s lake and popular nature spot used by local residents.

Emergency crews remained working at the incident until late into the evening.

A spokesperson for the force said her “death is not being treated as suspicious”, and a file is being “prepared for HM Coroner”.

“Her family are aware and our thoughts are with them at this sad time”, they added.
