Boats deployed as search volunteers scour Swindon lake for missing man

Boats have been deployed as search volunteers hunt for a missing Swindon man.

Wiltshire Search and Rescue have been scouring the lake at Coate Water Country Park this morning (Saturday).

Volunteers are using boats on the water and walking around the green space in search of 59-year-old Brian Roberts, who was last seen before Christmas.

Wiltshire Police is becoming “increasingly concerned for his welfare” following his disappearance from his home in Old Walcot.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Brian was last seen on December 23 and has not been seen since – we are increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“If you recognise him or have any information as to his whereabouts, please call us on 101 and quote reference number 54230001127.

“We would also like to directly appeal to Brian – please let us know you are safe either by contacting a friend or family member, attending a local police station or calling us on 101.”
