A Black Lives Matter protest due to take place in Swindon today has been postponed.
Organisers say it’s to ensure they are properly prepared and make sure the message presented is “one that shines out with no blemishes”.
A spokesperson for the event Zak Agilah told Wiltshire 999s the decision, which was made yesterday, has nothing to do with the wet weather forecast, but refused to provide any further details.
“We are doing this to ensure we are properly prepared and can produce the best outcome and result with high numbers and a true impact made”, he said, adding that “we have rescheduled to make sure the representation and message presented is one that shines out with no blemishes”.
The event is now expected to be held at the end of July.
