“I’ve got a bag of half in my a*se”, Swindon man told officers before strip search

A Swindon man told police officers “I’ve got a bag of half in my a*se” moments before a strip search at Gablecross police station.

Kervon Fleming, 28, pleaded guilty to the possession of cocaine, a class A drug, when he appeared before magistrates this morning (8 September).

Pauline Lambert, prosecuting, said the defendant, of Victoria Road, was arrested after police officer’s attention was drawn to a Peugeot on 3 September last year.

The three occupants of the car, including Fleming in the back passenger seat, were detained and a Misuse of Drugs Act search was undertaken.

He was taken to Gablecross custody for a strip search, and moments before, told officers he was concealing drugs in his anus.

“I’ve got a bag of half in my a*se”, he commented.

Fleming went on to produce a bag of white powder from his orifice. It was later examined by a forensic scientist who determined the substance was 13.91 grams cocaine with a purity of 75%.

The court heard he has previous convictions for possession with intent to supply in 2016 and possession of cannabis in 2020.

His solicitor said “it was his birthday celebrations, he wanted to have a good time”, before explaining how Fleming would consume that amount of cocaine in just one night.

The warehouse worker was fined £370 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £37 victim surcharge.
