Attempted murder charge for 20-year-old Swindon man following hit-and-run

A Swindon man’s been charged with attempted murder following a hit-and-run last week.

The incident happened at approximately 3.30pm on Friday March 6 outside The Dolphin public house in Rodbourne Road.

As a result of the incident, a 26-year-old man was flown to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Today, we have charged Mohammed Shajeed Ali, age 20,of Warneford Close, Toothill, with attempted murder.

“He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (16/03).”
