Arrests made after cannabis farm found on Wiltshire industrial estate

Arrests have been made after a cannabis farm was found on a Wiltshire industrial estate.

Police responded to reports of a strong smell of cannabis emanating from a disused building this morning (Tuesday).

Officers are believed to have forced entry to the premises on Westbury Industrial Estate, in Station Road, where they uncovered the grow.

The size of the setup is unknown at this stage.

Police remain guarding the scene, where they are likely to spend the next 24 hours gathering evidence and removing the plants for destruction.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis. They are being held in custody for questioning.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “People will see an increased police presence in the area as we carry out investigations and preserve the scene.

“If you have seen anything suspicious, or can help with our enquiries please contact us on 101 quoting log number 50 of today (19/09).”
