Army medic pulled seriously injured driver from wreckage after M4 crash

The M4 is closed westbound following a serious collision earlier this afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the motorway between junctions 16 and 17 at around 4pm, following a one-vehicle crash involving a black BMW.

The driver, who collided with the central reservation, was pulled from the wreckage by a passing army medic and truck driver who gave emergency first aid.
