Armed police descend on Bradford on Avon before arresting Liverpool man

A man’s been arrested after armed police descended on Bradford on Avon.

Firearms officers were seen in the area of Lamb Yard and Kingston Road from around 4.30pm this afternoon (12 November).

They were seen to raid a property within a large block of flats after more than an hour of standing outside the address and watching the building.

The officers were wearing ballistic helmets and were equipped with rifles.

“Officers, including armed police, attended Bradford on Avon this afternoon as part of ongoing enquiries to arrest an outstanding suspect”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.

Continuing, they said: “A 54-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of a bladed article and is currently in police custody.

“Please be reassured that there is no reason for the local community to be unduly concerned.”
