Another stabbing? Rumours spread after serious incident in Swindon

A serious incident in central Swindon sparked widespread concern yesterday (Sunday).

An area was cordoned off with crime scene tape as numerous people watched on. After receiving some treatment at the roadside, the male casualty was put on a stretcher and rushed to hospital.

A witness told Wiltshire 999s: “It looks like another stabbing, there are a load of police there.

“I really hope not but they seem to be frantic, a crime scene is up and someone looks badly injured on the floor.”

Another witness said the injured male was “bleeding all over the place and obviously in a lot of pain”.

The incident sparked rumours of another stabbing, shortly after two other knife attacks in the area.

Wiltshire Police was approached for a statement yesterday, and again today (Monday), but is yet to respond.

It is not yet known what happened – with rumours and speculation spreading online. Many people remain very concerned about the frequency of knife crime across the Swindon borough.

Yesterday, two people sustained knife wounds following a disorder in Moredon Road at around 1.30pm and following that a man was stabbed in his own home.
