Amesbury ambulance base incident connected to Russian spy investigation in Salisbury

An incident in Amesbury is understood to be linked to the Russian spy investigation in Salisbury.

Firefighters wearing green hazmat suits attended an incident on Solstice Park at around 5pm.

An Environmental Protection Unit was also at the scene alongside three fire crew and an Operational Support Unit. The exact nature of the incident is unknown at this time.

Most of the emergency services on scene left at around 8.30pm.

The fire service directed any requests for information to the Metropolitan Police.

A spokesperson for the Met said: “There are a number of scenes in place in Wiltshire, linked to the investigation into two people being taken ill in Salisbury on Sunday, 4 March.”
