Two air ambulance crews tasked as schoolgirl hit by car in Highworth

Two air ambulance crews were tasked after a schoolgirl was hit by a car in Highworth.

Emergency services rushed to reports of a road traffic collision Cherry Orchard, near Downs View shortly before 4pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday, 30 November).

The incident involved a car and an 11-year-old local girl, who sustained numerous serious injuries – reportedly including a broken jaw and leg. It’s understood she may have to undergo surgery.

Numerous critical care medics from Great Western Air Ambulance and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, responding in blue light cars, attended the scene to provide support to paramedics.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that no arrests were made and an investigation is ongoing.
