Air ambulance lands in Melksham as emergency services called to A350 serious crash

Emergency services are attending a serious road traffic collision in Melksham.

Great Western Air Ambulance, based out of Bristol, landed near Farmers Roundabout at around 4.30pm.

The A350 is blocked in the area whilst 999 responders work at the scene of a crash.

Witnesses suggest there are lorries involved in the incident, with fire engines and a large police presence at the scene.

No further details are known at this early stage.

There are significant delays in the area, with Google Maps showing standstill traffic on all roads connecting to the Farmers Roundabout, near Asda.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: We are asking motorists to avoid the A350 at Melksham following a serious road traffic collision.

“The A350 southbound from the Farmers Roundabout to the Berryfield Roundabout is likely to be closed for a number of hours.

“Please seek alternative routes.

“We will provide updates when the road has reopened – thank you for your patience.”
