Air ambulance lands for medical incident at Network Rail recycling site

An air ambulance landed in Westbury to attend a medical incident at a recycling centre today.

South Western Ambulance Service was called to the emergency at the Network Rail site on Westbury Industrial Estate at around 1pm this afternoon.

It’s understood a male operative fell from machinery and suffered injuries thought to be serious.

An ambulance service spokesperson said: “South Western Ambulance Service was called at 1pm about an incident on Brook Lane, Westbury.

“Our crews responded to a male patient who was reported to have fallen and was injured.

“They treated him at the scene and transported him to hospital by land ambulance for further care.”

Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed in a crop field in Brook Farm, off Brook Lane.

We’ve approached Network Rail, the Health and Safety Executive, Wiltshire Police and South Western Ambulance Service for comment.
