Air ambulance tasked as ‘inexperienced’ driver crashes car into house

An ‘inexperienced’ driver crashed their car into a house in Warminster today (Sunday).

Emergency services were called to the traffic collision in Vicarage Street shortly before 9am.

Given the nature of the reported incident, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was tasked alongside four fire engines, two ambulances and a number police units.

A grey Ford Fiesta, with at least two occupants, had struck a lamppost, no entry sight and an occupied house. Thankfully, the posts absorbed most of the impact.

Despite the large 999 response, nobody is believed to have sustained significant injuries.

A roads policing officer at the scene said he believed an “inexperienced driver” was “travelling too fast for the rainy conditions” and lost control.

The traffic cop underlined the importance of driving to the conditions, including the reduction of speed in the wet.

The road was partially obstructed by the crash, but reopened to traffic at around 11am.
