Air ambulance lands in Devizes as biker seriously hurt in crash

A biker has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Devizes today (Friday).

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was among the large number of emergency services that responded to reports of the serious crash in Pans Lane at around 5pm.

A black Honda motorcycle and a Citreon C3 were involved in the incident, which happened as the car pulled out of Walden Lodge Close.

The biker, a man aged in his 20s, sustained multiple serious injuries and was taken to Great Western Hospital by land ambulance for urgent treatment.

The casualty’s injuries aren’t believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed in a small green space off Addlington Close – allowing a team of two critical care medics treat the patient at the roadside.

An ambulance, ambulance operations officer and numerous police vehicles were in also attendance.

Nobody has been arrested or dealt with for traffic offences in relation to the crash. An investigation is ongoing.

The road is closed between A360 Southbroom Road and Wick Lane/Green Lane, but is expected to reopened by around 8.30pm – once the vehicles are recovered.
