A419 blocked in Swindon after police vehicle ‘wrecked’ in morning smash

UPDATE: Three police officers injured after three-vehicle crash on A419 in Swindon


The A419 is partially blocked in Swindon after a police vehicle was involved in a smash.

Emergency services are attending the scene southbound between the White Hart Roundabout and Commonhead Roundabout junctions this morning (Monday).

A witness told Wiltshire 999s that the front of a police car was “completely decimated”.

Google reports that motorists are stuck in traffic behind the incident for around four miles.

National Highways said: “There’s a 40 minute delay on approach with 4 miles of congestion so allow extra time.”

It’s unclear if anybody has been seriously injured in the road traffic collision.
