A3102 incident: Two men hospitalised after being electrocuted

The A3102 was closed after two men were electrocuted this morning (Friday).

Emergency services rushed to the serious incident in Swindon Road, near Royal Wootton Bassett, shortly after midnight.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was among the 999 crews tasked to the scene near The Sally Pussey’s Inn.

Both men were taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, which has a major trauma centre. One is believed to have been airlifted there.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said that the men were working at the time, and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.

The road closure was in place for several hours – but had been lifted before 6.30pm.
