Neighbouring police forces deal with Wiltshire’s 999 calls after system fault

Neighbouring police forces are dealing with Wiltshire’s 999 calls after system fault.

Calls to 101 are also affected, with police asking callers with non-urgent enquiries to avoid calling until the issues are resolved. Those with urgent issues should still call 101.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are currently experiencing problems with our 999 and 101 call system. Currently, our 999 lines are being rerouted to neighbouring police forces.

“Our 101 system is also experiencing delays due to these issues – please could we ask that anyone who needs to report issues to 101 that do not need immediate action, that they wait until the issues are resolved.

“We are working closely with our telephone provider to fix the problem as soon as possible.”
