Two men arrested after woman suffers injuries from chemical spray in Swindon incident

Two men have been arrested after a woman suffered injuries from a chemical spray.

Emergency services, including around ten police units, two ambulances, two fire engines and an operational fire support lorry, were called to Corfe Road in Toothill at around 4pm on Saturday.

It’s understood, that initially, the incident was being treated as a hazardous material incident, however it was quickly established that pepper spray was used.

The female casualty, believed to be in her 40s, was treated in the back of an ambulance for her injuries. She did not require immediate treatment at hospital.

A number of eyewitnesses – all with similar stories – say they saw two young man fighting in the street during the incident – both of which has suffered injuries causing blood loss.

Forensic investigation officers remained at the scene until just before 8.30pm on Saturday, removing a number of objects from a house as evidence and photographing a car covered in blood.

Armed police officers were witnesses visiting an address in Corfe Road on Sunday afternoon, with a number of other police vehicles parked on nearby junctions and roundabouts.

The men, aged 26 and 27, both from Swindon, have been arrested and remain in custody.
