Firefighters battle snow-covered roads to tackle vehicle blaze in Swindon

Firefighters battled through the snow-covered roads to reach a vehicle fire this afternoon.

The BMW X5 went up in flames just off Queens Drive at around 4pm today.

One fire crew from Swindon Fire Station on the Magic Roundabout and an ambulance raced to the scene of the incident in the car park of the Queens Drive Methodist Church on Whitbourne Avenue.

A group of locals gathered around the church as firefighters extinguished the blaze.

The BMW was completely destroyed, but luckily, no one was hurt.

A lowland rescue unit from Surrey Search and Rescue also attended the scene.
