Motorcyclist critically injured in head-on crash on Wiltshire border

A motorcyclist has been critically injured in a head-on crash on the Wiltshire border.

Emergency services were called to the A363 Sally in the Wood shortly before 5pm today (Friday) following repots of a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was among the many 999 crews attending the incident on the busy route between Bradford on Avon and Bathford/Batheaston.

The head-on crash occurred on a bend and involved a motorcycle and a Luton-style Renault van.

The male biker sustained significant injuries and was rushed to hospital by land ambulance for urgent care. His next of kin have been informed.

The serious collision happened approximately half a mile from the Wiltshire border.

Police closed the road to motorists following the crash

A forensic collision investigation is underway at the scene – with the result expected to remain closed until tomorrow morning (Saturday, 2 March).
