Swindon woman, 58, convicted of sex attack and racial assault

A woman from Swindon has been convicted of a sex attack and racial assault.

58-year-old Dawn Plumb was found guilty at trial at Swindon Magistrates’ Court in November 2023, and appeared at the same court for sentencing on Friday (12 January).

The defendant, of Eric Long Court, Toothill, denied charges of sexual assault and racially or religiously aggravated assault.

Both offences were committed against an adult female victim in late 2022.

Magistrates imposed a 12-month community order with 12 rehabilitation activity days. She must also complete a six-month mental health requirement.

£500 in compensation must be paid to the victim, as well as £300 in prosecution costs and a £114 surcharge.

Above all, Plumb must register as a sex offender for five years.
