Westbury emergency: Air ambulance touches down in cul-de-sac 

An air ambulance touched down in a cul-de-sac in Westbury this afternoon (Saturday).

Emergency services were called to treat a woman with injuries in Farleigh Close at around 4.30pm.

Due to the serious nature of the casualty’s wounds, a critical care doctor was flown in to help.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed in the residential road of Rosefield Way at around 4.45pm.

The injured woman was rushed to hospital by land ambulance for further treatment.

The incident is understood to be medical in nature; police were only in attendance to assist the ambulance service.

A local resident said that a “lady that had fallen and badly broke her leg”.

They added: “Wishing her well and hope she’s on the way to recovery soon.”

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was offline for repair work from 4 January this year, but returned to its Semington airbase yesterday evening (Friday, 12 January).
