Westbury shop robbed by machete-wielding male as police swoop

A shop in Westbury has been been robbed by a machete-wielding male.

Police swooped following the serious incident at One Stop in Queens Road this afternoon (Friday).

The store was cordoned off with tape as officers and detectives attended the scene at 1.30pm.

Locals claim staff were “threatened with a very large knife” during the robbery – which has been confirmed by Wiltshire Police.

It is believed the male suspect made off with around £150 in cash, and left in the direction of the alleyway and school.

A man, aged in his 20s, has been arrested on suspicion of armed robbery.
